Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Leopard squads freshly diploid in the eastern province got to work on Monday, carrying out two consecutive ambushes killing six so called ‘Special Task Force’ of the occupying Sri Lanka Army (SLA).

As reported in this column last week, several Leopard squads have been establishing bases across Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Amparai districts.

They are expected to step up attacks as the monsoon sets in, and disables the occupation forces’ ability to use Buffle and other armored carriers.

Defense experts estimate that it would take the Leopards up to six months to prepare the groundwork for conventional Tamil forces to return to the east.
